The Need

Raising Awareness.  Professional Education.  Community Resources.

Mental Illness is a serious problem that affects millions every year – many in our own communities. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) 1 to 5 adults in the U.S. alone – 4.8 million, or 18% of Americans – suffer from some form of mental health condition. Yet, because of stereotypes and stigmas, few seek the professional help they need.

Beginning Friday, May 17th through 19th, the Waterbury Church of Christ will sponsor a program (The Connecticut Mental Health Conference) to connect the community with a group of mental health experts in an effort to raise awareness of the issue through professional education and exposure to local resources available for those who need them.

The Mental Health Conference is designed to help equip us with specific tools to help fight mental illness in our communities and Churches. Please come join us, registration is free.
